  • Hi sorry to have missed you Gary when we stayed at Blue Hills this summer. As usual had a lovely time there and walking the cliffs. Our favourite place. Thankyou. My uncles, father and grandfather lived nearby keeping the Mithian village shop going and you have treated us so well through the years. Thought we were getting to old to camp so missed a few years. With pension offered an old Hymer so starting all over again!

My partner Tony and I have stayed at Blue Hills many times with our border collie Sam in our tent. Each time we arrive feeling like we are meeting friends and every time we leave we feel relaxed and look forward to our next visit. Gary and Lou go out of their way to make you welcome; their laid back approach evokes feelings of relaxation yet they ensure every provision and facility required is available, ie, hot water for free showers, good washing up facilities, free microwave and freezer and fridge use and good laundry facilities. I am almost reluctant to recommend this site as I would like to keep it to myself.

  • Jill Pugh says:

Just a quick thank you for a lovely weeks holiday at Blue Hills. The site was great, quiet, friendly and clean. The extra touches were well appreciated (loads of fridges/freezers, music and flowers in the loos)
We are so looking forward to making a return visit.

We have just got back from a 10 day camping holiday @ Bluehills. What a gem of a site it was. It was spotlessly clean, quiet and friendly, One of the best sites we have stayed at in a long time. Gary made you feel very welcome with a smiling face and concerns about your journey. We were shown around the site which featured fridge/freezers, microwave and even washing up liquid with dish cloths and scourers. The showers were free and always hot no matter what time of day you went. The cliff walks were amazing too. The views were outstanding, we even saw dolphins whilst walking to Chapel Porth.
We would most certainly recommend this site to anyone.
We will most certainly be coming back

We have just arrived home after 10 nights camping across 4 different sites in Bath, Cornwall, New Forest and Hastings. Bluehills was a lovely site and we had a lovely stay and would definitely stay there again. Thankyou

  • Helen and Andy says:

What a gem! spotlessly clean and never stayed at a site which provided washing up liquid before. Quiet and friendly, the best site i have stayed at yet! Bargain price too, highly recommend this site.

  • Anita and Duster says:

We’ve just visited your site for the first time and had a lovely couple of days. It was so relaxing and the facilities were excellent. Even our dogs were made welcome. We will certainly be going back, thank you

I Just want to say what an absolutely lovely site this is. I was there with a bunch of pals (BikerBills camping troop) & we had a fantastic week. The facilities are fantastic & the curry was to die for :o )). Will Hopefully make it back down there again soon. Thanks once again. Stella.

  • sharon says:

Just back from Blue Hills, the best campsite ive stayed on. The facilities were great free showers. mirowaves and fridges.. The views from the coastal path are out off this world. Hopefully will return next year. Thanks for a great week.

  • Ann says:

What a fab campsite, clean, quiet and great hospitality from Gary and Lou. Nothing is too much trouble, including taking care to ensure you have the right pitch, and that everything is OK. Benches and tables that can be moved around the site are a great idea and I can highly recommend the breakfast cooked by Lou and Gary.

Campsite is near to coastal path to Perranporth and St Agnes with nearby coves and lovely views and plenty of steep climbs!

Had a fabulous holiday and would highly recommend this site.

  • Phil, Linda and Digger says:

Many thanks for yet another enjoyable stay; Blue Hills never disappoints.

The "welcome" that one receives could well be used as good practise by other sites. You always feel as though your custom is valued which contrasts well with the appalling reception that we have received from other sites.

"Happy Valley" does not seem to change and is still as I remember it from many years ago.

All in all, one of our top 5 sites and that includes the whole of Europe as well

  • Peter, Sarah & kids Toomey says:

Hi Gary & Lou, Thankyou for a fab time and extending the holiday for the Bank holis. You holiday park is fab and lou cooking is top. I recommend anyone who is looking for a place to stay and enjoy a friendly welcome Blue Hills is the place to go, cant wait till next year so I can visit again. Thankyou all Peter & Sarah

  • Stuart Walker says:

A brilliant campsite with well tended amenities. Gary and Loo can usually be found on site cleaning or cooking or sorting recycling. The washing up liquid was always full as was they handwashing liquids which is just a small thing but its the small things that make the difference. Cafe Grubeez is worth a visit for Curry night or a cooked breakfast to sort you out for the day. I personally dont usually feel the need to leave comments etc but I was really impressed with the care that Gary & Loo run their site and know that next time we are in Cornwall there is only one site I will be heading for.

We returned again this year as we enjoyed our time with Gary and Lou the previous year. Gary and Lou are great in a crisis and we really appreciated what they did for us last year. Thankfully this year was crisis free and again a great holiday had by all.

The site is clean, quite and very close to the sea. Gary and Lou cook a great breakfast and also put on curry and chilli nights if you don't fancy cooking!

The site is set in countryside location and is only a five-minute walk from the sea. This year we did the costal path to Perranporth and the views were beautiful.

See you again next year J x

  • Susan & Craig says:

Hey all! Had a great month at Blue Hills! Planning another extended stay!!!!! For Lee, Geoff & Sam and all our friends there:

See ya soon! All our love Susan & Craig xx

  • Steve and Jan says:

Cheers Gary, the repair you did on my trailer held up all the way home. New wheel hub now on order as you advised. We will be booking to return next year.

Thanks again – Steve (The nice Welshy)

  • Steve and Jan says:

Just wish to point out I'll be returning to Blue Hills next week for the third time in the past 3 years. What better recommendation can I give.

    Thanks Gary and Loo

    See you soon.

  • eric b says:

Thanks for a lovely time at your site, we felt most welcome and had a relaxing brake. Your facilities were ample and clean. Its location to the cliff walks and local bay were ideal for a get away for a few hours. Don't recomemd fishing as sea bed is very rocky and there is plenty of old rigs in the water. We hope to see you next year

  • Joe H says:

Awesome stay last year! Already booked again for 2010 and managed to tempt my parents to join us for the last couple of nights. Hope you'll still be doing those amazing breakfast baguettes in the morning and another Chilli night! I don't think we'll bother cooking at all this year! See you in summer.

  • Steve and all! says:

Just got back from one of the best weekends ever. Quite challenging to find a campsite who takes large groups of teenagers (11 of us) but Blue Hills was perfect; proper chilled. Wonderful people, wonderful breakfast, wonderful location (close to Perranporth and about a minute walk away from the coast – excellent for watching the sunset!), all you need. Also nice hot showers; great after swimming in the sea in April ;) We couldn't have had a better time and we hope to see you again…

ps. we'll try and bring the amazing weather with us again next time :D

  • Harrison Family says:

My family and I recently returned from this site after an enjoyable two weeks away. We chose this site based on previous reviews and was not disappointed. Lou and Gary are really helpful and are always pleased to answer any questions you may have. The site is clean and well maintained and it was lovely to have fresh flowers in the loos in the morning. The site is also off the main road which means it a really nice quiet site although you do get the occasion small plane fly overhead from the nearby aerodrome (but hey! how many times can you say you get that sort of thing at home). Overall a highly recommended site that provides an ideal base for explore all Cornwall has to offer.

The site is situated well between St Agnes and Perranporth and is situated not far from the stunning cliff tops of the northern coast of Cornwall. A walk behind the site will lead to up to the cliffs and from here you can walk along the coast to either Perranporth or St Agnes. The views are stunning and well worth a look especially towards the end of a day after dinner.

If you are looking for a nice meal then defiantly try The Railway Inn in St Agnes. We had a super meal here and the atmosphere was very calming and relaxing. A really great way to finish off a our holiday.

Thanks again to Lou and Gary.

This is a bit late…….. We had a fantastic two weeks at Blue Hills between 25/08/09 to 8/08/09. The site is so well kept and in the ideal location and Gary and Loo are fab! The breakfast bar came in very handy on our last day after packing up our tent. We are defo back next year (will be booking very soon).

  • Anna, Binksy and the rest! says:

  • Sarah, John, Emily, Alice and Harry says:

We have just returned from the 2 most wonderful weeks at Blue Hills. Gary and Loo are the most wonderful couple, helpful and friendly. Harry would do anything to live in his tent helping Loo with the breakfasts in the new Breakfast Bar, this is definately worth a visit, and just spending time with Gary and his bikes. We had the most chilled evening sitting near the bar enjoying Loo's chilli and banana splits, the atmosphere was great and everyone should try these special evenings, see Loo or Gary for details. The site is clean, quiet with good facilities. We thought that the site was in a good position also to see lots of different areas of Cornwall. Thank you Loo and Gary for making our stay a pleasure, especially Harrys. See you next year!!

  • Steffi Lewis says:

Just wanted to say a big thank you to Gary & Loo for going above & beyond when a couple of bedraggled travellers turned up in a storm!

It is a really great campsite and the views from the cliffs, the sunsets and the sky at night just makes you fall in love with Cornwall … Blue Hills is a really great place to setup camp and explore this amazing county.

Will definately be back soon :)

    31st July – 8th August 2009

We have just returned from campsite and thoroughly enjoyed it despite the weather earlier in the week! Gary & Loo very welcoming and helpful. Would recommend site. Ideal for walkers using coastal path from site.

  • Ann Hall says:

Our third time at the site and it just gets better and better! 9 very chilled people have just arrived back in Kent!

    Thanks peeps!

  • Tracey and Chris says:

We had a fantastic time! The campsite is lovely and clean, fresh flowers in the toilet/shower block is a lovely touch and I particularly love the ethnic towel hooks in the shower cubicles. Garry and Loo are brilliant hosts. Garry managed to take some time out to go offroad motorbiking exploring the local byways, with hubby Chris, which kept him very very happy!! Hope you got the DVD??? We shall definitely be recommending you to family and friends and shall be back again when we revisit Cornwall. P.S. We went for an indian at the restaurant Garry recommended in Perrenporth on our last nite – yummy!

  • Marta & Simon says:

We have stayed at the Blue Hills between 3-8 July and it was wonderful. The site is well maintained, it's very clean and comfortable, with excellent kitchen/toilets/showers facilities. And Garry has been the most helpful person in the world, always going this extra mile.

Thank you very much once again, will definitely be back sometime next year!

    Marta & Simon

  • Julie says:

Well, everything that Steffi said and more…it was a wonderful break in Cornwall for two road weary travellers. Gary and Loo were two lovely people who I wished I could've spent more time getting to know…I'm sure that opportunity will come though :-) I'd wholeheartedly recommend Bluehills to anyone.

  • Sharon and Scott Brownley says:

Had another great long weekend on your site. Won't recommend it to anyone cos we don't want it to get booked up for next time! Many thanks to Gary and Loo for the great relaxed atmosphere on the site. Look forward to coming again soon.

  • Vickie and Adam Clark says:

Thank you Gary and Lou for a wonderful holiday! We have just returned from a 10 day break and feel so relaxed and rejuvinated. The campsite is wonderful, very chilled and in the best position for long walks and white sandy beachs. We are coming back in a few weeks, want to get as many weekends in before winter sets in!

thanks again Vick and Adam and big woof from Missy and Holly!

  • Phil & Moira says:

Just returned from Blue Hills after a weeks stay with Gary & Lou. Although the weather was awful for most of the week, we still had a brilliant holiday despite the weather.Without Garys help when we arrived, we would still be trying to put up our Coleman Quadspace in the windy ,rainy weather when we arrived ! If you want a chilled out holiday, this is the place to be ! excellent facilities in a nice quiet location, close to a coastal walk to Trevellas Porth. Thanks very much Gary & Lou for a great holiday, we will see you next year for a two week break (with our new tent with SIG!)

Phil & Moira & Ben the Springer, Doncaster, South Yorkshire.

  • Lucy Temple says:

Just returned from a lovely four day holiday at Blue Hills Campsite. The facilities were clean and tidy, the showers were lovely and hot (and free!) and the views/walks were spectacular. Will be recommending this campsite to friends and hoping to return for another holiday in the near future.

    Many Thanks

    Lucy, Ric, Marion and David

  • Had a Great time says:

It was our fist time at Blue hills, and although the weather was pretty poor the campsite its self was every thing and more of what we wanted..

Very clean, good pitch layout, close to the beach, etc and most of all the owners were very helpfull and great.. Thanks for a great stay we will be back very shortly.

  • Caroline says:

I have been to this campsite with my family a great number of times over the last 17 years and as we have progressed from tent to caravan, have found it absolutely fantastic. My parents have also stayed at the same site in previous years and we have all found it excellent. It is a very friendly, quiet location near to beaches, walks and all the conveniences and throughout the time I have spent there, and as it has changed hands a few times, the level of service has remained brilliant. Everyone is friendly and helpful and I can't wait to return for my annual holiday two days from now!

  • Ricky Josey says:

Just back from a week at Blue Hills, had to leave a message to say what a great site this is, well run, clean, simple and not commercialised. With St Agnes and Perranporth on the doorstep this is a hidden gem, I'd reccomend this site to anyone with a love of the outdoors who wants to avoid commercialism.

  • mr and mrs garrood says:

we were booked in for a week but had to leave after 5 days. In those days we had a great time although the weather was typical british summer.

The campsite was lovely and Gary and Loo very helpful.

We will definatley be back hopefully with better weather.

    thank you

  • Phil Carter says:

My wife and I have just come back from spending 10 days at this site sn to be honest it has to be the best site we have stayed on. Gary is a great guy didn't get a chance to meet Lou. the site is just a little walk from the beach and which has some of the best Sun-sets I have ever seen. the site is very clean and the showers are great and the washing up facilitys are a great bonus. what we also was very impressed about is as we were there it was bank holiday and they didn't cram people in to get the most money as I have seen on other sites. so all in all this is a top site and if you go you WILL want to go again as we will be booking for next year! phil n sarah
